Bina – Performer, Storyteller, Cultural Bridge
From the foothills of Almora, India to the stages of New York City, Bina’s journey in dance is a vibrant fusion of heritage, artistry, and global rhythm. Drawing from her ancestral roots and a lifelong fascination with world dance, Bina brings soul, precision, and joy to every performance.
Trained in both classical Indian dance and Middle Eastern belly dance, she honed her craft over 13 years at Westchester Dance Academy and deepened her studies with some of NYC’s most respected instructors, including Nourhan Sharif, Anahid Sofian, Dalia Carella, and Azmara.
As a performer, Bina has enchanted audiences from cultural festivals to celebrity events — with Beyoncé and John Leguizamo among those who’ve experienced her magic firsthand. Her choreography has brought stories to life on stage and screen, with credits in productions like My Angel Angelica, Sang Harsh, and Mad as the Mist and Snow. She has performed with acclaimed troupes including Bellysimma, Bas Harem, Bellyqueen, Nadia Mousse Ensemble, and the Rising Sirens.
Passionate about passing on the tradition, Bina teaches with the same grace she brings to the stage. She has led classes at yoga centers, studios, and schools across the region, and currently serves as professor of Middle Eastern Belly Dance at Purchase College — inspiring the next generation to move with intention and confidence.
Bina’s artistry has been spotlighted on national television, including Good Day New York, The Morning Show Live, and Something to Talk About. She also performed a traditional Turkish chiftetelli live on The Late Show with David Letterman — a rare and powerful moment for Middle Eastern dance on mainstream TV.
Whether on stage, in the classroom, or in celebration, Bina dances not just to perform — but to connect, uplift, and transform.
