BINA’S BIO
Bina has been interested in all types of world dance since her childhood. Her ancestors are descendants of Almora, India. She has studied classical dances of India as well as dances of the Middle East .
Bina trained at Westchester Dance Academy for over 13 years. She has also trained in New York City with many prominent Middle Eastern dance teachers including Nourhan Sharif , Anahid Sofian, Dalia Carella, Azmara
Performing for many celebrities including Beyonce and John Leguizamo. Her creative drive led her to choreographing for stage and film productions including My Angel Angelica , Sang Harsh and Mad as the Mist and Snow . Enjoying collaborating with fellow artists and dancers she performed with various troupes including Bellysimma , Bas Harem , Nadia Mousse Ensemble , Bellyqueen and the Rising Sirens .
Her desire to share the joy, mystery and beauty of the dance led to her teaching at educational institutions , yoga centers and dance studios where she is currently a professor of Middle Eastern Bellydance at Purchase College.
Featured on local and national television she has appeared on Good Day New York, Something to Talk About and The Morning Show Live. Also performing to the Turkish chiftitelli rhythm on the Late Show with David Letterman.
